How to Install Colossus on Kodi

Colossus Repo Shut Down!

After Exodus died a death, many Kodi users turned to install Covenant to watch movies and TV shows.

While this third-party add-on has risen in popularity, it has also attracted attention from the Motion Picture Association or MPA.

It is the MPA who represents the following:

  • Disney
  • Paramount Pictures
  • Twentieth Century Fox
  • Universal City Studios
  • Warner Bros
  • Netflix, and Amazon

They claim that Kodi add ons which are found in the Kodi Colossus repo violate intellectual property rights.

As a result, Covenant, Sportie and the entire Colossal repository has been deleted.

It should be noted at this point, because of these repo shutdowns, it is wise to install a VPN.

This not only bypasses and geo-restrictions that may be in place. They will also prevent any ISP or MPA reps being able to trace you.

With this, here is how you can install the Colossus Repo on Kodi 17. We have broken it down into phases, so this will also work with any other Kodi add-ons you may wish to download and install.

Here is the source file address (URL) the name of the zip file that will be used during the installation of the Colossus repo.

  1. File source URL: http://mediarepos.net/kodistuff/
  2. Install from zip file: Repo_Colossus.zip

By default, Kodi is set to block the installation of any third-party add-ons from any unknown source.

Unless you have already enabled this, you do need to set Kodi to accept this, the following steps show you how you can easily do this.

  2. On the Home Screen, select Settings (the gear icon). This is located in the upper left of your screen.

Installing from a zip file for Kodi

In these steps, you will install the zip file from the file source that you added in the steps above. The zip file can be the repository file or the video add-on. Either is OK to proceed with, in these steps.

  1. Navigate back to the home screen.
  2. Select add-ons from the menu on the left-hand side
  3. Select the Package installer (the open box icon). This is located in the top left of your screen.

  8. The add-on from the zip file should be successfully installed.

Note: If the zip file is a repo file, you will need to proceed with the following steps to install the add-on from the Kodi repository.

Fire TV Kodi

One thing to note is that as the Kodi download on mobile devices will show the same interface. The above instructions should also work on the Fire TV or any other devices Kodi will run on.

Kodi Colossus Not Working

This Colossus Kodi repository won’t work as it was shut down by the developer. He received a notice what appeared to be a cease-and-desist letter from the MPA.

This was a great shame, but luckily the steps above should solve the problem for now. It was home to some of the best Kodi add-ons.

Don’t Receive any Notice From the MPA, Use a VPN

Unfortunately, the above situation won’t become any better, and we will see more and more Kodi repos, or add-ons being shut down. Luckily, in their place will be others.

While this toing and froing is going on, it is wise to make sure you are fully protected, and any Kodi streaming you do will be masked and hidden. The best way you can do this is to use a VPN connection.

Choosing the best VPN can be the same as finding a working repo, rather hard. However, when you head directly for the best Kodi VPN, things are much more straightforward.

To save all the hard work, we can recommend the best VPN service provider which is ExpressVPN.

This VPN will mask your connection and keep your identity well out of the eyes of any governing body.
